The Golden Retriever is a medium to large sized family favourite. They are well known for their golden lustrous coat (hence their name), their abilities in field work (retrieving), instinctual hunting, as assistance dogs and in search and rescue. They are a family friendly breed and are also very intelligent which makes them enjoy learning and training. Golden Retrievers are playful, trustworthy and eager to please. They love outdoor play and the water as their breed was developed to retrieve waterfowl. They generally enjoy fetch and swimming or water play.
